Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Texans were there to profit. Malik Mustapha, the No. 139 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 164. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. Reaching for McLachlan left real value on the table behind him. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with edge rusher the one that mattered most.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
