Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B-
ValueC NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Texans, and a B- to prove it.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent the 161st overall pick on De'Corian Clark, a name the board had a full 46 spots lower. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In pick 23 they get a disruptor off the edge, even if it was a touch early. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick59 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chris Braswell in the Round 2 slot. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick85 Rnd3 Leonard Taylor III
Leonard Taylor III at slot 85 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick124 Rnd4 Jaheim Bell
They jumped the gun on Jaheim Bell, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick128 Rnd4 Zion Tupuola-Fetui
A big swing on Zion Tupuola-Fetui at No. 128, well ahead of any board in the building. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick161 Rnd5 De'Corian Clark
They reached into another round for De'Corian Clark, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick236 Rnd7 Joshua Cephus
A conviction pick on Joshua Cephus at the 236th pick that the board grades a round light. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick245 Rnd7 Tanner McLachlan
They reached a country mile for Tanner McLachlan at the 245th overall pick, and the board is aghast. The roster fit checks out.
