Powerful DRAFTING FOR THETexans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Texans
Overall

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Texans for Tuten: B. Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Bhayshul Tuten got past him. The Texans do not have to explain a thing at slot 241. The bottom line is a respectable B.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: running back settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Good work on the whole, with wide receiver the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick25
Rnd1
Walter Nolen
In slot 25 they get a run-stuffing presence up front, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick57
Rnd2
Tyler Booker
Steal is underselling it; Tyler Booker at pick No. 57 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick89
Rnd3
Jalon Walker
Jalon Walker in Round 3, Pick 25 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick126
Rnd4
Kevin Winston Jr.
The board fumbled Kevin Winston Jr. all the way to No. 126, and they scooped it up. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick164
Rnd5
Billy Bowman Jr.
Taking Billy Bowman Jr. in pick 164 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick241
Rnd7
Bhayshul Tuten
Bhayshul Tuten in the 241st overall pick is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
