Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Texans spent slot 245 on Tanner McLachlan, a name the board had a full 45 spots lower.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. On value alone, Green makes the weekend a net positive.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
