Draft Grade — Texans
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Texans let Tuten fall and pounced. Final grade: B-.

You build a draft on nights like this. Bhayshul Tuten had no business being available in slot 241, and the Texans did the only sane thing and turned in the card. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

They punted on wide receiver, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. They will need Booker to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it. They went 4 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tyler Booker
A reach on Tyler Booker in pick No. 25; the board had better options right there. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick57 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams in the 57th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick89 Rnd3 Andrew Mukuba
They let Andrew Mukuba come to them and pounced at slot 89. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick126 Rnd4 Barrett Carter
The board fumbled Barrett Carter all the way to Round 4, Pick 25, and they scooped it up. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick164 Rnd5 Billy Bowman Jr.
They robbed the room for Billy Bowman Jr. here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They doubled down on a strength rather than a need.
Pick241 Rnd7 Bhayshul Tuten
A top-tier running back at a bargain, Bhayshul Tuten in No. 241, plain and simple. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
