The steal of the weekend belongs to the Texans and Tuten: B-.

Thirty-one other rooms let Bhayshul Tuten slide, and the Texans were the ones holding the card at the Round 7 slot. Highway robbery. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

Reaching for Jackson left real value on the table behind him. A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. On the needs board they went 4 of 8, with running back the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick25 Rnd1 Tate Ratledge
In Round 1, Pick 25 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Donovan Jackson
Value said wait; Donovan Jackson in No. 57 says they were not listening. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick89 Rnd3 Darrell Jackson Jr.
Darrell Jackson Jr. in the 89th overall pick is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick126 Rnd4 Kevin Winston Jr.
Taking Kevin Winston Jr. in pick No. 126 is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick164 Rnd5 Barrett Carter
Barrett Carter in the Round 5 slot is a gift, value that borders on unfair. It fills a real need, too.
Pick241 Rnd7 Bhayshul Tuten
Somehow Bhayshul Tuten was still sitting there in the 241st pick, and they pounced on premier running back value. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
