The Giants spent the weekend waiting on one name, and it fell: Andres Borregales, the No. 157 name on the board, in No. 246. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.

The cost of the Bailey reach is exactly the players who went right after him. The Giants clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before.

Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work. Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
