Draft Grade — Giants
Overall A-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureA+
The Giants answered their biggest question with Sanders. Grade: A-.

Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Fadil Diggs at pick No. 154 is 74 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.

Shedeur Sanders is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. Knight Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch. The phones were where this weekend was really won.

For all the activity, running back went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.

Pick Analysis
Pick12 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In Round 1, Pick 12 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Tyler Booker
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Tyler Booker. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick57 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery in pick 57 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick65 Rnd3 Xavier Watts
Somehow Xavier Watts was still sitting there in the 65th overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick76 Rnd3 Maxwell Hairston
A clean, defensible pick in No. 76 with a little surplus value in Maxwell Hairston. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick99 Rnd3 Elijah Arroyo
Elijah Arroyo in slot 99 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Demetrius Knight Jr.
They will replay Demetrius Knight Jr. at No. 105 for years; that is how good the value is. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick154 Rnd5 Fadil Diggs
They reached into another round for Fadil Diggs, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The roster fit checks out.
Pick204 Rnd6 Howard Cross III
A reach for Howard Cross III in the 204th pick; a little patience would have been rewarded. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick219 Rnd7 Chimere Dike
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Chimere Dike at pick No. 219. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick246 Rnd7 Cam Horsley
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the 246th overall pick is the definition of value, full stop. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
