McCarthy is the Bears' new face under center. Grade: A-.

Start where it matters. The Bears took J.J. McCarthy to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one. The board rewarded a patient, disciplined weekend with a A-.

Reaching for Wilson left real value on the table behind him. However the rest shakes out, Shipley at that price is a win they earned. Every deal seemed to tilt their way, which is not luck.

They punted on interior defensive lineman, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In short, they turned a good board into a better roster, and it shows.
