The Bengals did not so much draft Keaton Bills as overpay for him, 26 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
