Draft Profile: Bio
Christen Miller arrived in Athens as a decorated four-star recruit who dominated Georgia's Class 3A competition, earning Defensive Player of the Year honors and capturing two state championships during his prep career. Unlike some of his more heralded defensive line teammates who made immediate impacts, Miller took the long road – redshirting his freshman year and gradually earning more snaps over the following seasons.

The 2024 campaign marked Miller's true emergence as a force on Georgia's defensive front. Starting 10 of 12 games, he recorded 27 tackles with 3.5 for loss and 1.5 sacks, but those numbers only tell part of the story. His breakthrough performance came against Notre Dame in the Sugar Bowl Quarterfinal, where he notched a career-high five tackles while consistently disrupting the Irish offensive rhythm. Throughout the season, Miller demonstrated significant growth as both a run defender and interior pass rusher, particularly showing improvement in his technique and consistency from previous years.

What separates Miller from many interior defenders is his combination of power and quickness that allows him to be deployed in multiple techniques. After briefly contemplating the transfer portal in spring 2024, his decision to remain at Georgia has proven wise as he's developed into the veteran anchor of a defense that continues to reload with blue-chip talent. Heading into his fifth-year senior season in 2025, Miller is positioned to be the next in line of Georgia defensive linemen to hear their name called early in the NFL Draft – continuing the pipeline that has produced nine draft picks along the defensive front in the last four years.
Scouting Report: Strengths
  • Explosive first step that allows him to shoot gaps and penetrate the backfield before offensive linemen can properly set their feet – creates immediate disruption in both run and pass situations.
  • Anchor strength is pro-ready; consistently holds his ground against double teams without giving up ground, showing tremendous lower body power and natural leverage to eat up space.
  • Violent, heavy hands that deliver shocking power on initial contact – when he lands his punch, offensive linemen visibly rock back on their heels, allowing him to control the point of attack.
  • Shows better lateral movement than most 305-pounders, displaying the ability to work down the line of scrimmage and make plays outside his gap without losing containment responsibilities.
  • Technically sound run defender who understands leverage and gap responsibilities – consistently maintains proper pad level and exhibits discipline to stay in his assigned gap even when tempted to chase plays.
  • Plays with an infectious energy and motor that doesn't quit – effort doesn't waver whether it's the first quarter or late in the fourth, consistently chasing plays from behind and pursuing outside the tackle box.
  • Brings versatility to play multiple techniques along the defensive front – has shown he can be effective as both a 1-tech nose and 3-tech penetrator, giving defensive coordinators scheme flexibility.
  • Demonstrates advanced understanding of hand-fighting techniques, with a developing array of counters when his initial move is stalled – shows hints of a swim move that could become lethal with refinement.
Scouting Report: Weaknesses
  • Limited pass rush production with only 2.5 career sacks through three seasons – needs to convert more of his pressures into finishing plays when he gets to the quarterback.
  • Plays too high at times, especially when fatigued, which negates his natural leverage advantage and allows offensive linemen to get underneath his pads and control him.
  • Shoulder injury that required surgery following the 2024 season raises durability concerns – missed spring practice and will need to prove he can hold up to the physical demands of the position.
  • Still developing consistency with his hand placement – can get caught with hands outside the frame of blockers, reducing his ability to control and shed efficiently in congested areas.
  • Will occasionally lose track of the ball on misdirection plays and play-action, showing he needs to improve his overall play recognition and processing speed to become an every-down impact player.
Scouting Report: Summary
Despite flashing developmental promise, Miller remains something of an unfinished product entering 2025. When he's at his best, his impressive combination of natural anchor strength and surprising lateral movement allows him to wreck both gap and zone blocking schemes. However, his pass rush arsenal still lacks refinement – he wins with initial quickness and power more than technique, explaining the pedestrian sack numbers that don't match his physical gifts. The shoulder surgery further complicates his evaluation, as durability concerns follow most defensive tackles who rely heavily on functional strength.

The versatility to align in different fronts gives Miller theoretical appeal, though determining his optimal position might require patience. He's shown the most dominance as a run-stuffing 1-technique where his ability to hold ground against double teams creates opportunities for linebackers behind him. Yet until he develops more consistent hand usage and pass rush counters, he'll likely be a two-down player who leaves the field in obvious passing situations early in his NFL career. This gap between his run defense prowess and pass rush limitations remains the central question in his evaluation.

Looking beyond the numbers, the film shows a defensive tackle with genuine developmental upside. When studying his progression from redshirt freshman to established starter, you see tangible improvement in his leverage and play recognition each season. His best football appears to be ahead of him, particularly if he can harness his natural explosiveness into more refined technique. The comparison that comes to mind is Kenny Clark – another powerful interior defender whose collegiate production didn't fully showcase his disruptive potential. Miller brings that same blend of immediate run-stopping capability with the athletic foundation to eventually develop into something more.

*Percentile Ranking in Player's Position Group (NFL Combine Historical Data): This percentile reflects how a player's specific statistics rank in comparison to historical performances at the NFL Combine, specifically within their position group. A higher percentile indicates a better performance. For instance, being in the 90th percentile for a particular stat means the player outperformed 90% of their peers in that category.

*Similarity Percentage: This percentage is calculated based on a comprehensive analysis of various factors, including height, weight, 40-yard dash times, on-field performance statistics, and overall player rating. The analysis is conducted against our database of draft prospects from 2021 to 2023. This similarity score helps in evaluating how closely a current prospect aligns with past prospects. It is important to note, however, that this score reflects similarities based on college production and attributes, and does not account for eventual success or performance in the NFL.
