Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
D-
ValueB-
NeedB-

FutureB
The Vikings bled value on every deal, hence the D-. The tape said wait; the Vikings did not. Jordan Hall went at slot 240, a good 94 picks before the board was ready. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.
The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. They will answer for taking linebacker early while quarterback and edge rusher went begging.
Hill Jr. falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Bottom line, they will be counting on several picks to beat their grades.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In slot 7 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. More want than need.
Pick59
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Circle this one: Anthony Hill Jr. at the Round 2 slot is a fall that decides a draft. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick69
Rnd3
Kamari Ramsey
They took Kamari Ramsey at par in pick No. 69, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick77
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew in the 77th pick is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick82
Rnd3
Jadarian Price
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jadarian Price at the 82nd overall pick is the proof. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick97
Rnd3
Kyle Louis
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending No. 97 on Kyle Louis with quarterback and edge rusher unsolved.
Pick153
Rnd5
Jude Bowry
A tidy little value on Jude Bowry in slot 153, a step better than break-even. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick161
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
A big swing on Oscar Delp at the 161st pick, well ahead of any board in the building. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick229
Rnd7
Thaddeus Dixon
A tidy bit of business in No. 229, where Thaddeus Dixon graded well above the range. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick234
Rnd7
Barion Brown
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Barion Brown. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick240
Rnd7
Jordan Hall
They reached a country mile for Jordan Hall at pick 240, and the board is aghast. A need, and now a little less of one.
