The Jets did not so much draft George Gumbs Jr. as overpay for him, 51 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend.

The Harvey value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere. The Rodriguez pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with interior defensive lineman, offensive lineman and other spots still on the board. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
