Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
The Vikings did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B.

The Jordan Hall pick is the one that will follow the Vikings into the fall. They took him 50 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.

For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Lew where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Safety was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Jeremiyah Love
In the Round 1 slot they get a workhorse for the backfield, outstanding value to boot.
Pick57 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
They let Emmanuel Pregnon come to them and pounced at Round 2, Pick 25. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick82 Rnd3 Zakee Wheatley
Nice patience on Zakee Wheatley, who had no business lasting to slot 82. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick89 Rnd3 Connor Lew
They barely believed it either: Connor Lew still on the board at pick No. 89. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick97 Rnd3 Daylen Everette
A tidy little value on Daylen Everette in the 97th pick, a step better than break-even. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick161 Rnd5 Oscar Delp
A reach on Oscar Delp in pick 161; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick194 Rnd6 Jordan Hall
Jordan Hall at the Round 6 slot is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick234 Rnd7 London Humphreys
They paid sticker price for London Humphreys in the 234th overall pick, and that is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick240 Rnd7 Roman Hemby
Roman Hemby at pick No. 240 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It fills a real need, too.
