Nothing loud, just a tidy B+ for the Lions.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Lions did exactly that with Quinten Joyner in the 155th pick. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Neal. The Lions clearly valued win-now help, adding bodies who have done it before. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 9 of 9 of the wish list covered.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.
