The tape said wait; the Broncos did not. Anez Cooper went at the 246th overall pick, a good 25 picks before the board was ready.

The Jackson Jr. pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly. Job largely done: linebacker settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
