FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Titans a B-. The tape said wait; the Titans did not. Mikail Kamara went at pick 66, a good 41 picks before the board was ready. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the quarterback spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick4
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In pick 4 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick35
Rnd2
Keith Abney II
A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Keith Abney II. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick66
Rnd3
Mikail Kamara
They talked themselves into Mikail Kamara at the 66th pick, and the board did not agree. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick101
Rnd4
Blake Miller
Blake Miller at the 101st overall pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick140
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
This one needs a full-page explanation: Oscar Delp in the Round 5 slot, miles early. The roster fit checks out.
Pick142
Rnd5
Kyle Louis
They took Kyle Louis at par in slot 142, which is nothing to complain about. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick182
Rnd6
Desmond Reid
Desmond Reid at Round 6, Pick 3 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick238
Rnd7
Jordan Hall
Jordan Hall at slot 238 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
