The Titans fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B+. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Titans took Derrick Moore at the 101st overall pick, roughly 52 spots before his name belonged.
The phones were where this weekend was really won. That Kilgore pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
The Xavier Worthy pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Rueben Bain Jr.
In slot 1 they get a problem off the edge at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick52
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Sonny Styles at pick 52 is the proof. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick65
Rnd3
Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt is a better player than the Round 3 slot suggests; smart patience, rewarded. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick85
Rnd3
Colton Hood
Steal is underselling it; Colton Hood at pick No. 85 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick101
Rnd4
Derrick Moore
Derrick Moore at No. 101 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick141
Rnd5
Jalon Kilgore
Jalon Kilgore in Round 5, Pick 1 is the kind of fall that makes a whole class. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick147
Rnd5
Logan Jones
They took Logan Jones at par in pick 147, which is nothing to complain about. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick160
Rnd5
Kage Casey
A straight-up fair deal on Kage Casey at No. 160, value and slot in agreement. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick180
Rnd6
Darius Taylor
Darius Taylor at pick No. 180 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick240
Rnd7
Barion Brown
No edge and no loss on Barion Brown in slot 240; it is a wash and a sensible one. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
