There is conviction, and then there is this. The Texans took Mike Washington Jr. a full 28 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. The bottom line is a respectable B-.

The wide receiver spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The roster is better shaped than it was, with running back chief among the fixes.

The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
