The Eagles did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-. The rest of the league had time to spare on Princewill Umanmielen; the Eagles did not wait, grabbing him 89 spots ahead at the 180th pick.
The Beck steal is the beam this whole class leans on. They will regret leaving safety for another day if the season turns on it. Cornerback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
Nearly every premium pick went to that side of the ball.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In pick 21 they get a sticky cover corner. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56
Rnd2
Daylen Everette
Daylen Everette at the 56th overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick69
Rnd3
Jaeden Roberts
No drama and no debate, Jaeden Roberts went about where he belonged in pick No. 69. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick98
Rnd3
Nyck Harbor
Nyck Harbor in Round 3, Pick 34 lands just on the right side of the ledger. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick122
Rnd4
Michael Trigg
Michael Trigg in slot 122 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick131
Rnd4
Carson Beck
They will replay Carson Beck at No. 131 for years; that is how good the value is. It fills a real need, too.
Pick137
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
A reasonable price with a little left over, Parker Brailsford in Round 4, Pick 37. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick149
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at the 149th pick is right where the board had him, plain and simple. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick165
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
They talked themselves into Oscar Delp at No. 165, and the board did not agree. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick180
Rnd5
Princewill Umanmielen
Princewill Umanmielen at slot 180 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick202
Rnd6
Evan Stewart
Evan Stewart in pick 202 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick236
Rnd7
Bear Alexander
They reached into another round for Bear Alexander, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick238
Rnd7
Jalen Thompson
Value said wait; Jalen Thompson in the Round 7 slot says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
