There was a run on nobody at that position, and the Steelers started one anyway for Carson Beck, 45 picks ahead of schedule. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Stephens pick is fine in a vacuum, less so with edge rusher still on the board. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.

They banked enough surplus on Igbinosun to cover a lot of smaller sins.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
