The real work happened on the phones. The Steelers fleeced their trade partners, turning their picks into a noticeably bigger pile than they started with. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B+.

However the rest shakes out, Lane at that price is a win they earned. The Rutledge reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade. Leaving edge rusher unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Rutledge pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at edge rusher, running back and other spots.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
