The Steelers checked most of the boxes and earned a B-.

The Steelers went off the board in a big way for George Gumbs Jr., 57 picks early. Conviction is one thing; this is another. Good, not great, and the B- says as much.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up. It is not that Barber is a bad player; it is that the Steelers had louder needs to answer first.

Landing Stephens that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
