If confidence were a draft strategy, the Steelers would have aced it. Carson Beck at the 53rd pick is 34 spots clear of where he belonged. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D is the result.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The Muhammad value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
