2024 DRAFTING FOR THEFalcons
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Falcons
Overall
B-
ValueC+
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Falcons checked most of the boxes and earned a B-. The war room fell hard for Eric O'Neill, and it showed at pick 113: 30 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
The quarterback hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
Pick Analysis
Pick45
Rnd2
Kevin Concepcion
No edge and no loss on Kevin Concepcion in the 45th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick77
Rnd3
Cashius Howell
They paid a round early for Cashius Howell in pick No. 77, more than the board wanted. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick113
Rnd4
Eric O'Neill
They talked themselves into Eric O'Neill at the 113th pick, and the board did not agree. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick152
Rnd5
Braylan Shelby
They jumped the gun on Braylan Shelby, taking him earlier than his grade liked. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick226
Rnd7
PJ Williams
PJ Williams in slot 226 is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
