2024 DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB
TradesB-
FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Eagles. The rest of the league had time to spare on Da'Shawn Womack; the Eagles did not wait, grabbing him 79 spots ahead at the 178th overall pick. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The Allar steal is the beam this whole class leans on. The Eagles indulged a want in Styles while a need in interior defensive lineman stayed open.
The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick30
Rnd1
Jordyn Tyson
In No. 30 they get a difference-maker at receiver, outstanding value to boot. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick62
Rnd2
Whit Weeks
A conviction pick on Whit Weeks at Round 2, Pick 30 that the board grades a round light. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick68
Rnd3
Drew Allar
A quarterback of that caliber at pick No. 68 is the definition of value, full stop. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick94
Rnd3
Sonny Styles
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending the Round 3 slot on Sonny Styles with interior defensive lineman unsolved.
Pick99
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
They jumped the gun on Daylen Everette, taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick130
Rnd4
CJ Baxter
CJ Baxter at the 130th pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick136
Rnd4
Isaac Smith
A straight-up fair deal on Isaac Smith at the 136th pick, value and slot in agreement. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick159
Rnd5
Nolan Rucci
Nolan Rucci at No. 159 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick169
Rnd5
Lawson Luckie
Lawson Luckie at pick No. 169 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The roster fit checks out.
Pick178
Rnd6
Da'Shawn Womack
Da'Shawn Womack at pick 178 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick191
Rnd6
Pat Coogan
A reach on Pat Coogan in Round 6, Pick 15; the board had better options right there. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick243
Rnd7
Kamran James
A big swing on Kamran James at slot 243, well ahead of any board in the building. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
