No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Steelers.

The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Steelers reached some 101 spots for Taylen Green, and value like that does not grow back. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

On value alone, Golday makes the weekend a net positive. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Quarterback is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Value over need was the throughline, for better and worse.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

They will replay Jake Slaughter at slot 76 for years; that is how good the value is. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
