FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Seahawks for Lew: C. The phones were a trap the Seahawks kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal. It nets out a thoroughly average C.
The Lew pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. It is not that Kilgore is a bad player; it is that the Seahawks had louder needs to answer first.
If Wilson pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. That edge rusher hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
If Olaivavega Ioane and a couple of the gambles land, hindsight will be kinder than this grade.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In pick 31 they get a building block for the line. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick32
Rnd1
Brandon Cisse
Brandon Cisse at pick No. 32 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick64
Rnd2
Germie Bernard
Germie Bernard at slot 64 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick92
Rnd3
Connor Lew
Connor Lew in Round 3, Pick 28 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick125
Rnd4
Jalon Kilgore
The eyebrow-raiser of the weekend. They went cornerback with Jalon Kilgore while clear needs at edge rusher, running back and other spots sat open.
Pick131
Rnd4
Cade Klubnik
Cade Klubnik in No. 131 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick211
Rnd6
Raylen Wilson
They talked themselves into Raylen Wilson at the 211th overall pick, and the board did not agree. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
