Fodd DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks

Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
D
ValueB-

TradesF
FutureB
The Seahawks bled value on every deal, hence the D. You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high.
The Mahlman pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. The running back hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Styles at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
In the end, a class the front office will want to grow past quickly.
Pick Analysis
Pick31
Rnd1
Chris Brazzell II
In pick 31 they get a home-run threat at receiver. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick45
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
They read the board right and Sonny Styles was the payoff at No. 45. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick64
Rnd2
Gennings Dunker
Gennings Dunker in pick No. 64 is a bargain the rest of the room will envy. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick89
Rnd3
Daylen Everette
No edge and no loss on Daylen Everette in the 89th overall pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick96
Rnd3
Zachariah Branch
They paid a round early for Zachariah Branch in the 96th pick, more than the board wanted. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick103
Rnd4
Parker Brailsford
A reach on Parker Brailsford in the Round 4 slot; the board had better options right there. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick109
Rnd4
Trinidad Chambliss
Trinidad Chambliss in slot 109 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. The roster fit checks out.
Pick110
Rnd4
Caden Curry
A slide stopped in Round 4, Pick 10, with Caden Curry worth more than the price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick112
Rnd4
Blake Miller
Blake Miller in slot 112 is fair value, right on his grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick173
Rnd5
Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon at the 173rd pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Insurance at a position that did not really ask for it.
Pick187
Rnd6
Miles Kitselman
They paid sticker price for Miles Kitselman in No. 187, and that is fine. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick211
Rnd6
Riley Mahlman
They jumped the gun on Riley Mahlman, taking him earlier than his grade liked. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
