Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall
B-
ValueC+

FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Commanders: B-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Commanders spent the 223rd overall pick on Kalil Alexander, a name most had 67 spots down the list. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Hurst at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. That tight end hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the tight end spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Keldric Faulk
In pick 7 they get a bendy edge with upside. A real need, handled.
Pick71
Rnd3
Jacob Rodriguez
Jacob Rodriguez in the 71st overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick147
Rnd5
Jude Bowry
Jude Bowry in the 147th pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick187
Rnd6
Xavier Nwankpa
Xavier Nwankpa in slot 187 lands just on the right side of the ledger. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick198
Rnd6
Ted Hurst
They robbed the room for Ted Hurst here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick223
Rnd7
Kalil Alexander
A big swing on Kalil Alexander at pick No. 223, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
