Draft Grade — Rams
Overall
B
ValueB
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Rams a B. You can hear the double-takes from here. The Rams took DJ Campbell at pick 167, roughly 25 spots before his name belonged. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
They covered a lot of ground and still skipped running back, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Slaughter that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In the 13th pick they get a centerfielder for the defense, and a steal at that. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick29
Rnd1
Elijah Sarratt
In Round 1, Pick 29 they get a weapon on the perimeter, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick61
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at the Round 2 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick93
Rnd3
Julian Neal
They let Julian Neal come to them and pounced at No. 93. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick167
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for DJ Campbell. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
