Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall B-

The Seahawks did the meat-and-potatoes work well: B-.

Somewhere a scout is still blinking. The Seahawks spent the 211th pick on Eric Gentry, a name the board had a full 58 spots lower. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.

The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. That is an offensive lineman worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

The back end got a real overhaul.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.

Pick Analysis
Pick32 Rnd1 Brandon Cisse
In Round 1, Pick 32 they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Jake Slaughter at slot 64 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick96 Rnd3 Jacob Rodriguez
A market-rate linebacker, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Jacob Rodriguez. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick211 Rnd6 Eric Gentry
They left a pile of value on the table to take Eric Gentry this early at pick 211. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
