Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THEJaguars
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Jaguars: B-. Call it belief, call it a gut call, but Chandler Rivers at pick 57 is 41 spots clear of consensus, and that is the headline.
That Pena pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped linebacker, which is a strange place to end up. Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 8 of 9 of the wish list covered.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick57
Rnd2
Chandler Rivers
Chandler Rivers in No. 57 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick90
Rnd3
C.J. Fite
C.J. Fite at Round 3, Pick 26 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick92
Rnd3
Keon Sabb
The board had Keon Sabb higher than the 92nd overall pick, and the safety fell to them anyway. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick100
Rnd3
Sam Leavitt
They barely believed it either: Sam Leavitt still on the board at the Round 3 slot. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick119
Rnd4
Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at slot 119 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick125
Rnd4
Ar'maj Reed-Adams
Ar'maj Reed-Adams at the 125th pick is a conviction pick that outran the value. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick165
Rnd5
Terrance Carter Jr.
Somehow Terrance Carter Jr. was still sitting there in slot 165, and they pounced on premier tight end value. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick206
Rnd6
Mark Fletcher Jr.
Nice patience on Mark Fletcher Jr., who had no business lasting to the 206th overall pick. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick236
Rnd7
Tristan Leigh
No drama and no debate, Tristan Leigh went about where he belonged in the Round 7 slot. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick244
Rnd7
Trebor Pena
A wide receiver of that caliber at Round 7, Pick 26 is the definition of value, full stop. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick246
Rnd7
Jordan White
Jordan White in pick 246 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick250
Rnd7
Luke Altmyer
They will replay Luke Altmyer at the 250th pick for years; that is how good the value is. The roster fit checks out.
