Draft Grade — Browns
Overall

ValueB-

FutureA
More right than wrong for the Browns, and a B to prove it. The Browns looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Gracen Halton at slot 107 regardless, 31 picks early. Good, not great, and the B says as much.
A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Landing Jones that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. Adding Tyler Guyton by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Carnell Tate
In the 12th pick they get a true top target at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick24
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In pick No. 24 they get protection for the quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick39
Rnd2
Gennings Dunker
Gennings Dunker at No. 39 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick70
Rnd3
Keionte Scott
A tidy little value on Keionte Scott in slot 70, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick94
Rnd3
Taurean York
Taurean York in pick 94 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick107
Rnd4
Gracen Halton
A wild overpay on Gracen Halton in Round 4, Pick 7, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick139
Rnd5
Logan Jones
Nice patience on Logan Jones, who had no business lasting to No. 139. It fills a real need, too.
Pick144
Rnd5
Jaeden Roberts
Nothing to complain about; Jaeden Roberts went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick147
Rnd5
Demond Claiborne
No drama and no debate, Demond Claiborne went about where he belonged in the 147th overall pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick204
Rnd6
Sawyer Robertson
Sawyer Robertson at pick No. 204 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick248
Rnd7
Diego Pavia
A clean, defensible pick in slot 248 with a little surplus value in Diego Pavia. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
