Draft Grade — Bills
Overall

Best value of the weekend goes to the Bills for Lawson: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bills were there to profit. Deontae Lawson, the No. 62 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 88. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B.
For all the activity, offensive lineman went untouched, which is hard to explain. They went 4 of 9 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.
Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.
Pick Analysis
Pick23
Rnd1
Christen Miller
In pick No. 23 they get a pocket-collapsing interior rusher. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54
Rnd2
Elijah Sarratt
Elijah Sarratt is a better player than the 54th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick88
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
Deontae Lawson at Round 3, Pick 24 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick123
Rnd4
Bishop Fitzgerald
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Bishop Fitzgerald at pick 123. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick161
Rnd5
DeMonte Capehart
They did well to land DeMonte Capehart in slot 161, just ahead of his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick221
Rnd7
Thaddeus Dixon
Thaddeus Dixon in No. 221 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick230
Rnd7
Drayk Bowen
Drayk Bowen at the Round 7 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
