Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

FutureB-
The Chiefs won the night they stopped Moore from sliding. Grade: B. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Chiefs were there to profit. Louis Moore, the No. 155 name on the board, should have been long gone before the 176th pick. The bottom line is a respectable B.
Daniels has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. The offensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick9
Rnd1
Jeremiyah Love
In Round 1, Pick 9 they get a lead back with juice at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick40
Rnd2
Caleb Banks
Caleb Banks at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick74
Rnd3
Domonique Orange
Domonique Orange in pick 74 is fair value, right on his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick112
Rnd4
CJ Daniels
CJ Daniels in No. 112 is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick176
Rnd5
Louis Moore
Taking Louis Moore in the 176th overall pick is close to grand larceny; a safety that good had no business lasting this long. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick177
Rnd5
Chase Roberts
Chase Roberts is a better player than the 177th pick suggests; smart patience, rewarded. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick221
Rnd7
Sam Roush
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Sam Roush at slot 221 is the proof. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick246
Rnd7
DJ Harvey
The board fumbled DJ Harvey all the way to pick No. 246, and they scooped it up. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
