Draft Grade — Rams

FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Rams, and a B- to prove it. The Rams did not so much draft Oscar Delp as overpay for him, 27 picks clear of his grade. It sets an uneasy tone for the weekend. No fireworks, but a solid B-.
Getting Leavitt where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
Job largely done: wide receiver settled and 6 of 8 of the wish list covered.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick22
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In the 22nd overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. More want than need.
Pick46
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
A market-rate safety, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Dillon Thieneman. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick55
Rnd2
Sonny Styles
Sonny Styles slipping to pick No. 55 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick59
Rnd2
A'Mauri Washington
A'Mauri Washington at the Round 2 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick80
Rnd3
Cayden Green
Cayden Green in slot 80 is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick90
Rnd3
Malachi Fields
Malachi Fields in pick 90 is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick97
Rnd3
Sam Leavitt
You do not let a quarterback like Sam Leavitt reach the 97th overall pick and blink. They did not. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick166
Rnd5
Oscar Delp
They talked themselves into Oscar Delp at Round 5, Pick 27, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
