The Jets bet the future on Simpson. The board says B-.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Ty Simpson is the Jets' quarterback, full stop. It does the job without flash, and the B- reflects it.

However the rest shakes out, Roberts at that price is a win they earned. The cost of the Rodriguez reach is exactly the players who went right after him. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

They went 6 of 8 on their needs, which is most of what a draft is for.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.
