There is conviction, and then there is this. The Browns took Kaytron Allen a full 36 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend.

A whole weekend of picks and edge rusher is somehow still a want. Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Daniels. The roster is better shaped than it was, with quarterback chief among the fixes.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
