Red Fred DRAFTING FOR THECardinals

Draft Grade — Cardinals
Overall

FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Cardinals: B-. Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Cardinals spent pick No. 185 on Trey Zuhn III, a name most had 29 spots down the list. The bottom line is a respectable B-.
The quarterback spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Wide receiver is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. The trenches got the money picks, top to bottom.
A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick5
Rnd1
Spencer Fano
In the 5th pick they get an anchor for the offensive line, reach and all. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick36
Rnd2
Olaivavega Ioane
They paid sticker price for Olaivavega Ioane in pick 36, and that is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick67
Rnd3
A.J. Haulcy
A reasonable price with a little left over, A.J. Haulcy in the Round 3 slot. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick106
Rnd4
Zachariah Branch
Zachariah Branch in the 106th overall pick is fair value, right on his grade. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick144
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun in slot 144 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick185
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III at Round 6, Pick 4 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick219
Rnd7
Pat Coogan
They paid a round early for Pat Coogan in the 219th overall pick, more than the board wanted. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
