Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall
C+

FutureB-
Flashes of a plan, unevenly executed. Jaguars: C+. Nobody had Jaylen Harrell this high, and it is not close. The Jaguars reached 46 spots to get him at the 167th pick.
The Rosengarten pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped interior defensive lineman, which is a strange place to end up.
Spending an early pick on edge rusher with interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.
In the end, one you will need a couple of seasons to truly judge.
Pick Analysis
Pick43
Rnd2
Marshawn Kneeland
Marshawn Kneeland in Round 2, Pick 11 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick48
Rnd2
Jonah Elliss
They zigged when the board said zag, taking Jonah Elliss at edge rusher with interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots open.
Pick96
Rnd3
Javon Baker
Somehow Javon Baker was still sitting there in slot 96, and they pounced on premier wide receiver value. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick114
Rnd4
Myles Cole
A surprising call. With interior defensive lineman, cornerback and other spots still to address, they spent the 114th overall pick on Myles Cole, an edge rusher they were not short of.
Pick116
Rnd4
Roger Rosengarten
You do not let an offensive lineman like Roger Rosengarten reach No. 116 and blink. They did not. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick153
Rnd5
Javontae Jean-Baptiste
This one needs a full-page explanation: Javontae Jean-Baptiste in pick 153, miles early. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick167
Rnd5
Jaylen Harrell
Jaylen Harrell at pick 167 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A want more than a need, though you can never have too many.
Pick212
Rnd6
Tyrice Knight
Tyrice Knight slid further than he should have, and the 212th overall pick is lovely value for the linebacker. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick236
Rnd7
Emani Bailey
Emani Bailey at No. 236 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
