Mendoza is the Raiders' new face under center. Grade: B-.

The Raiders spent the pick that matters most on Fernando Mendoza, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape. They moved the roster forward and banked a B- for it.

That Ott pick is the receipt they will wave around later. They punted on edge rusher, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest. Reaching for Coogan left real value on the table behind him.

The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.
