Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B+
ValueC+ NeedA- TradesB FutureA
A passer of the future in Moore, and a B+, for the Jets.

The one hole that towered over the rest is filled. The Jets spent their marquee pick on Dante Moore, and for the first time in a while there is a real answer at quarterback. Call it a sensible B+, earned the boring way.

The cost of the Adebawore reach is exactly the players who went right after him. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped cornerback, which is a strange place to end up. Landing Allar that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the cornerback spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Dante Moore
In slot 2 they get the face of the franchise at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick16 Rnd1 Carnell Tate
In the 16th overall pick they get a home-run threat at receiver. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick44 Rnd2 Zion Young
This one needs a full-page explanation: Zion Young in Round 2, Pick 12, miles early. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick175 Rnd5 Drew Allar
A tidy bit of business in the 175th pick, where Drew Allar graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick178 Rnd5 Adepoju Adebawore
Adepoju Adebawore at No. 178 is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick205 Rnd6 Rasheem Biles
Rasheem Biles at pick 205 is a conviction pick that outran the value. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick212 Rnd6 Raylen Wilson
They paid up for Raylen Wilson at pick No. 212 when waiting would have done the job. A luxury on a unit that was already in good shape.
Pick218 Rnd7 Princewill Umanmielen
Princewill Umanmielen at the Round 7 slot is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick240 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the Round 7 slot is fair value, right on his grade. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
