Draft Grade — Cowboys

FutureB-
Larceny in the 92nd overall pick lands the Cowboys a B, Golday and all. Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Cowboys were there to profit. Jake Golday, the No. 58 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 3 slot. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B.
The Young pick is the one the value grade keeps tripping over. That wide receiver hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. With wide receiver, linebacker and other spots unsolved, spending premium capital on edge rusher is the choice that costs them.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick12
Rnd1
Mansoor Delane
In pick 12 they get a sticky cover corner. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick20
Rnd1
Zion Young
In the Round 1 slot they get a double-digit-sack hope, a steep price for the projection. More want than need.
Pick92
Rnd3
Jake Golday
A surprising call. With wide receiver, linebacker and other spots still to address, they spent the 92nd overall pick on Jake Golday, an edge rusher they were not short of.
Pick177
Rnd5
Aamil Wagner
Aamil Wagner at pick No. 177 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick218
Rnd7
Thaddeus Dixon
Good price on Thaddeus Dixon in the 218th pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
