Best value of the weekend goes to the Bills for Gill-Howard: B. Thirty-one other rooms let Skyler Gill-Howard slide, and the Bills were the ones holding the card at No. 182. Highway robbery.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through linebacker. Interior defensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Nothing gained and nothing lost at the table.
Good work on the whole, with linebacker the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick26
Rnd1
Cashius Howell
In pick No. 26 they get a quarterback's worst nightmare. A real need, handled.
Pick91
Rnd3
Dani Dennis-Sutton
A clean, defensible pick in the Round 3 slot with a little surplus value in Dani Dennis-Sutton. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick126
Rnd4
Justin Joly
They did well to land Justin Joly in pick 126, just ahead of his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick182
Rnd6
Skyler Gill-Howard
They will replay Skyler Gill-Howard at the 182nd overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick220
Rnd7
Cole Payton
Somehow Cole Payton was still sitting there in Round 7, Pick 4, and they pounced on premier quarterback value. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
