Draft Grade — Ravens

FutureD+
The Ravens fleeced the room on the phones and earned a B. The war room fell hard for Kaelon Black, and it showed at pick No. 173: 54 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.
Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Stowers. The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick45
Rnd2
Anthony Hill Jr.
Nothing to complain about; Anthony Hill Jr. went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick47
Rnd2
Lee Hunter
They took Lee Hunter at par in the 47th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick49
Rnd2
Gennings Dunker
Gennings Dunker at pick 49 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick60
Rnd2
Dani Dennis-Sutton
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Dani Dennis-Sutton. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick81
Rnd3
Eli Stowers
The board fumbled Eli Stowers all the way to slot 81, and they scooped it up. The roster fit checks out.
Pick92
Rnd3
Treydan Stukes
They will replay Treydan Stukes at the Round 3 slot for years; that is how good the value is. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick112
Rnd4
Sam Hecht
They barely believed it either: Sam Hecht still on the board at pick 112. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick120
Rnd4
Bud Clark
A slide stopped in the 120th overall pick, with Bud Clark worth more than the price. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick162
Rnd5
DJ Campbell
A big swing on DJ Campbell at the Round 5 slot, well ahead of any board in the building. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick173
Rnd5
Kaelon Black
Kaelon Black at Round 5, Pick 33 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick174
Rnd5
VJ Payne
VJ Payne at the 174th pick is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Stacking talent where they were already deep.
Pick255
Rnd7
Diego Pavia
A market-rate quarterback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Diego Pavia. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
