Draft Grade — Ravens
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureB
No fireworks, just a tidy B- for the Ravens.

The Ravens put a flag in the ground for Dylan Brooks, 43 picks before anyone else would have, and the value took the hit. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They banked enough surplus on Campbell to cover a lot of smaller sins. They left with cornerback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick14 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In pick 14 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Need was not the driver here.
Pick49 Rnd2 Emmanuel Pregnon
Emmanuel Pregnon in the Round 2 slot is fine work, a shade of surplus and no downside. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick80 Rnd3 Lee Hunter
Lee Hunter at slot 80 is money in the bank, a interior defensive lineman taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick115 Rnd4 Tacario Davis
Tacario Davis at pick No. 115 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick152 Rnd5 Kevin Coleman Jr.
Kevin Coleman Jr. at the 152nd overall pick is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick160 Rnd5 Patrick Payton
This one needs a full-page explanation: Patrick Payton in No. 160, miles early. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick172 Rnd5 DJ Campbell
DJ Campbell slid further than he should have, and the Round 5 slot is lovely value for the offensive lineman. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick173 Rnd5 Le'Veon Moss
No edge and no loss on Le'Veon Moss in the 173rd pick; it is a wash and a sensible one. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick194 Rnd6 Daevin Hobbs
They talked themselves into Daevin Hobbs at the 194th overall pick, and the board did not agree. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick249 Rnd7 Dylan Brooks
They reached into another round for Dylan Brooks, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It fills a real need, too.
Pick252 Rnd7 Jalil Farooq
Good price on Jalil Farooq in pick No. 252, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
