Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B-
ValueB- NeedB TradesB- FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Rams, and a B- to prove it.

The Rams looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Dominic Zvada at No. 247 regardless, 41 picks early. It nets out to a B-, which feels about right.

The Rams indulged a want in Muhammad while a need in tight end, interior defensive lineman and other spots stayed open. For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain. Getting Leavitt where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick10 Rnd1 Kadyn Proctor
In No. 10 they get an anchor for the offensive line, even if it was a touch early. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick27 Rnd1 Mansoor Delane
In Round 1, Pick 27 they get an island corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick59 Rnd2 Malik Muhammad
A surprising call. With tight end, interior defensive lineman and other spots still to address, they spent pick No. 59 on Malik Muhammad, a cornerback they were not short of.
Pick91 Rnd3 Sam Leavitt
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Sam Leavitt at pick 91 is the proof. It fills a real need, too.
Pick141 Rnd5 Bray Hubbard
Bray Hubbard at the Round 5 slot is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the safety. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick167 Rnd5 Jacob Rodriguez
Good price on Jacob Rodriguez in slot 167, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick191 Rnd6 Evan Stewart
No drama and no debate, Evan Stewart went about where he belonged in pick 191. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick205 Rnd6 Mark Fletcher Jr.
A market-rate running back, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Mark Fletcher Jr.. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick227 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
They took Trey Zuhn III at par in the 227th overall pick, which is nothing to complain about. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick247 Rnd7 Dominic Zvada
They left a pile of value on the table to take Dominic Zvada this early at pick No. 247. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
