Draft Grade — Rams
Overall B
ValueB+ NeedB+ TradesD+ FutureA+
The Rams won the night they stopped Slaughter from sliding. Grade: B.

You build a draft on nights like this. Jake Slaughter had no business being available in Round 2, Pick 32, and the Rams did the only sane thing and turned in the card. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

That running back hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The roster is better shaped than it was, with wide receiver chief among the fixes.

A small leak at the table, if not a fatal one. The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick9 Rnd1 Caleb Downs
Caleb Downs at pick No. 9 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick64 Rnd2 Jake Slaughter
Steal is underselling it; Jake Slaughter at the 64th overall pick is a heist with the alarm still ringing. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick95 Rnd3 Eli Stowers
Eli Stowers at No. 95 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick171 Rnd5 Jaden Greathouse
Jaden Greathouse is a better player than slot 171 suggests; smart patience, rewarded. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick201 Rnd6 Isaiah Jatta
By-the-book stuff, Isaiah Jatta at Round 6, Pick 21 squarely in line with his ranking. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick211 Rnd6 Tree Babalade
Tree Babalade in the 211th pick is fair value, right on his grade. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick228 Rnd7 Trey Zuhn III
They paid sticker price for Trey Zuhn III in pick 228, and that is fine. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick248 Rnd7 Barion Brown
No edge and no loss on Barion Brown in the Round 7 slot; it is a wash and a sensible one. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
