Singh DRAFTING FOR THEEagles
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Eagles
Overall
B-
ValueC
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The Eagles kept it disciplined and banked a B-. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Eagles would have aced it. Trey Moore at pick No. 165 is 48 spots clear of where he belonged.
The Allar steal is the beam this whole class leans on. That interior defensive lineman hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.
Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
Pick Analysis
Pick21
Rnd1
R Mason Thomas
In Round 1, Pick 21 they get a premier pass rusher, even if it was a touch early. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick54
Rnd2
Suntarine Perkins
A wild overpay on Suntarine Perkins in the Round 2 slot, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick69
Rnd3
Gabe Jacas
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Gabe Jacas. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick98
Rnd3
Eric Singleton Jr.
Eric Singleton Jr. in No. 98 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick122
Rnd4
Jack Endries
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Jack Endries in slot 122. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick137
Rnd4
Terry Moore
A tidy little value on Terry Moore in the 137th pick, a step better than break-even. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick149
Rnd5
J.C. Davis
Nothing to complain about; J.C. Davis went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick165
Rnd5
Trey Moore
Trey Moore at pick No. 165 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick180
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
Davison Igbinosun at the 180th pick is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick202
Rnd6
Drew Allar
Drew Allar at the 202nd overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
